Ricky A Looney

Ricky Allen Looney, 65, of Burkeville, VA, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.  He was a retired truck driver, builder of his own log home, who enjoyed travelling, fishing, hunting and playing his guitar and having a good time.  Ricky loved his family, was an avid gardener and loved camping. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Della Lynn Stacy Looney; three children, Marcus Allen Looney (Ben), Jessica Lynn Chappell (Brandon), and Billy Paul Looney (Chaily); six grandchildren, Cheyanne, Elena and Lucas Chappell, Laci, Bristal, and Berkli.  Ricky is also survived by five sisters, Kathy Stacy (James), Regina Kincer (Ron), Leisa Kundman (Kay), Teresa Looney, and Tammy Moody (Wayne); three brothers, Michael David Looney, Walter Jr. Looney, and Rodney L. Looney; and his special friends, Curtis Owens and Tim Dotson.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter S. and Cora Blankenship Looney; two sisters, Rita Carol Stacy and Deborah Lynn Charles; and his father and mother-in-law, James L. and Wanda C. Stacy.  

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M., Tuesday, January 9, at the Crewe Chapel of the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 200 W. Carolina Ave., Crewe, VA  23930.  Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Trinity Memorial Park in Rice, VA.
