Herman Larry Yeatts, age 93, of Crewe, went to his heavenly home on Monday, September 12, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Larry will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Larry will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family and dear friends and his selfless service to others. Larry was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, church, and community.
Larry was born on November 3, 1928. He was the son of Mrs. Mamie Yeatts McDaniel and Homer H. Yeatts of Farmville. Larry was an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force from 1948- 1950, and worked at Norfolk and Southern Railway for 35 years and retired as a “brakeman” and was a hard worker throughout all the years of his life. Larry was a member of the Crewe United Methodist Church, and was a life member of the Crewe Volunteer Fire Department.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 70 years Alice Martin Yeatts and his two children Cynthia Yeatts Bollinger and Garry Martin Yeatts.
Larry is survived by his brother Homer Yeatts, Jr. of Farmville, his two grandchildren, Courtney Cave of Maurertown and Beth Frady of Appomattox. Also surviving are his three great- grandsons, Ryland and Rowen Cave and Liam Frady, along with numerous other loving family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 16th at 2pm. Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice, VA.
