Edith (Wilborn) Hayer

Edith “Sis” Wilborn Hayer, age 66, of Crewe, VA, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023.  She is survived by her longtime companion of over 40 years, William “Tee” Sydnor; two daughters, Ann Capps (Elgie) of Cumberland, VA; two granddaughters, Karlee Capps; three brothers, James Wilborn (DeeDee) of Blackstone, VA, Dean Wilborn (Cathy) of Burkeville, VA, and Bill Wilborn (Rosa) of Alberta, VA; and many nieces and nephews.  Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and James “Shorty” Wilborn; a nephew, DoodleBug Wilborn; and a great niece, Savannah Wilborn.  

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M., Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the Crewe Chapel of Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 200 W. Carolina Ave., Crewe, VA 23930. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice, VA.
