Sandra Lockhart, 80, passed away on May 24, 2024. She was born to the late Fred Irving Palmer and Carye Moorefield Hines in Lynchburg, VA. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Don Lockhart; and her grandson, Mason Lockhart. She was a devoted member of Calvary's Love Ministries in Hopewell, VA, where she taught Sunday School and worshiped with her church family. She was proud of her garden and spent her free time working away in her yard. She always had time for her children, her grandchildren, and her loving dog, Teddy. She is survived by her children, Melody Lockhart Braithwaite (Scott) and Darrell Lockhart (Dawn); her grandchildren, Lawson Lockhart and Adam Braithwaite; her great-grandchild, Layla Varner; and her siblings, Sharon Tindley (Terry), Dana Palmer (April), and Pete Palmer (Nanette). A funeral service will be held at Calvary's Love Ministries on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11 A.M. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Interment will follow at 2 P.M. at Trinity Memorial Park.
