Richard Allen Baughan, 61, of Dillwyn passed peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 6, 2021.   He was born May 22, 1959, in Blackstone, a son of James Allen Baughan and the late Doris Lewis Baughan.  He was the husband of Kaye Proffitt Baughan.  Richard was an Independent Electrician and HVAC Installation Technician.

In addition to his loving wife of 29 years, Kaye, and his father, James, he is also survived by his loving children, Deana (Daniel) Boyles, David (Tana Davidson) Amburn, and Danielle (James) Edwards; his adored grandchildren,  Curtis Milliner, Joey Boyles, Michaela Amburn, Alex Boyles, Will Edwards, Mackenzie Amburn, Kayelyn Milliner, Jay Edwards, and Jacob Edwards; his father and mother-in-law,  Robert Proffitt and Pansy Proffitt; his siblings, Brenda Baughan Bryant, Ronald (Kay) Baughan and Deborah Baughan Borum.

He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law,  Debbie (Bubba) Burgess, Robert (Nita) Proffitt, Tricia (Junior) Shephard, Faye (Don) Price and Sandy (Bill) Anderson;  Nephews and Nieces,  Shannon (Kynan) Edwards, Stacey Smith, Lee Bryant, Dakota (Bethany) Baughan, Ryan (Katie) Borum, Fletcher (Dana) Borum, Tyler Borum, Chuck (Jaime) Franklin, JD (Tina) Franklin, Pam (Will) Wright, Kurt Shephard, Brandon (Jeanette) Pike, Glenn (Erin) Proffitt, Nick Mitchell, Melissa (Justin) Brannigan, Charity (Chris) New, Quaid (Victoria) Anderson, Morgan (Chris Holzbach) Anderson and Skylar (Maddie Harris) Anderson and Great-Nephews and Nieces, Skye Reed, Jaidyn Bryant, Evie Baughan, Cami Smith, McKenna Borum, Mack Baughan, Alice Shephard, JC Franklin, Dawson Shephard, Ann-Marie Shephard, Rylee Franklin, Jayden Franklin, Leah Wright, Caysea Wright, Lucas Shephard, Anna Wright, Jude New, Rosie Pike, Nora Proffitt, Isaac Anderson, and Paul Brannigan.

A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 2 p.m. in Trinity Memorial Gardens.  A viewing will be held Monday, February 8, 2021, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home in a staggered, come as you can fashion, face masks and social distancing are required.
