Nancy Sue Franklin, (86) (MAW MAW) also known as Naneo and Big Red left us with broken hearts on May 15, 2024. She was born in Logan County, West Virginia to the late Okey Hensley and Polly Belcher. Waiting in Heaven for her arrival are her Husband, Ronald Keith Franklin, her sons, David Keith Franklin (wife, Vickie), Eddie Michael Franklin (wife, Phyllis) siblings, John Hale, Frank Hensley (Preacher), Okey Hensley, Sally Hensley. Also, her lifelong friends Willard and Thelma Evans

She Leaves behind 2 daughters, Tammy Martin (husband, Mark) Teresa Winfree (husband, David), 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She came from a different time when life was not easy. Through many hard times she never complained and she never wanted any help. She was tough. People would always say "don't mess with big red!" God help you if you messed with her kids, she would take you down. She was one of the hardest workers we know, always taking care of everyone else and leaving herself for last. You could always find her in the kitchen canning tomatoes, making apple butter, mashed potatoes, cornbread and biscuits from scratch or one of her "maw maw breakfast". She always remembered everyone's birthday with her famous mayonnaise cake. She loved to cook for everyone and it was absolutely impossible to go hungry at maw maw's house.

She leaves us all with heavy hearts but although she is gone she will never be forgotten. Anytime we see a hummingbird or anything purple (her favorite color) we will think of her and smile knowing she is still with us in our hearts.
