Jacqueline Lee (Schmidt) Davis, 80, of Lake Monticello, died on Friday, November 22, 2024, in Charlottesville.
She was born on July 16, 1944, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Lois Pauline (Strange) Schmidt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Reginald Davis; and a brother, Thomas Edward Schmidt, Jr.
Mrs. Davis graduated from Longwood College and taught in the county schools before starting a family. She worked as a Postmaster Relief at the Bremo Bluff Post Office for many years. Her last position was as Quartermaster Assistant alongside her husband, Reggie, at Fork Union Military Academy.
Survivors include a daughter, Heather Lee Shiflett and her husband, Walter, of Lake Monticello; three grandchildren, Dalton Shiflett of Norfolk, Madelyn, and Anna Shiflett of Palmyra; and a sister, MaryAnn Faucette and her husband, Gene, of Halifax.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice, VA by Pastor Jennifer Payne.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home.
