Douglas Ernest Fellows, age 77, of Burkeville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024 surrounded by family at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Alfred Fellows and Margaret Rutherford Craig Fellows; sister, Doris Kratochvil; and brother, Bruce Fellows. He is survived by his ex-wife, Linda Goin Fellows; daughter, Michelle Denise Reeves; sons, Derrick P. Fellows (Veronica) and Travis S. Fellows; and granddaughter, Clara Linda Fellows.

Doug was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as a radio operator and obtained the rank of sergeant. Upon his return to civilian life, he pursued careers in radio and advertising. He became a fixture in his community first as a radio personality on WSVS and in his later years as an advertising executive at the Courier-Record, as the founder and publisher of the Burkeville Community News, and as a member of the Burkeville Town Council.

He enjoyed fishing at the beach, grilling, watching football, and spending time with family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M., Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Hamner-McMillian Chapel, 1400 South Main Street, Blackstone, with services to follow at noon. Interment, will be held in Trinity Memorial Gardens, 22482 Prince Edward Highway, Rice, Virginia.
