On the evening of October 13, 2013, in Richmond Virginia, Dorothy Boose, surrounded by her family surrendered all and entered through the prestigious gates of Heaven and heard the words: "Well done my good and faithful servant." Dorothy was born on February 6, 1945, to the late Robert Lee Mills and Edith Reynolds Mills in Radford Virginia. She was educated in the Radford /Christiansburg city public school system. Her love for the mountains could often be heard in her vernacular and in her anecdotes of childhood memories. She also attended John Tyler Community College where she began her studies that would lead her to her career of being a Registered Nurse. For over 30 years Dorothy devoted her time, her passion, and her knowledge to the patients and staff of Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Burkeville Virginia. During her time at Piedmont, she established lifelong friendships. Her knowledge and passion for nursing earned her the respect of her peers and superiors. Dorothy's relationship with God was always important to her, even in the hours before she went to her eternal home, she made it very clear and said in a booming and articulate voice "I LOVE GOD." She was able to nurture her spiritual needs at the High Rock Baptist Church. It is at this church that she left her legacy of service. She founded and implemented the curriculums for the Vacation Bible Schools. She was also President of the Youth Committee and an essential founding member of the Milton L. Foster scholarship committee. Dorothy loved working with the youth, this was evident when she directed the church's first Christmas play.  Members of her church knew where to find her on Sundays, sitting in her favorite spot (3rd pew) awaiting the word that would fulfill her soul. Many knew of Dorothy's love for books, good laughs, and her beloved family for whom she leaves to continue her legacy of service:  Her dearly loved  Emroy of Rice VA to whom she was married to for 41 years; her daughters who she could not have been more proud of, Tiffiney of Fredericksburg, VA and Kimberly of Chesterfield, VA; three adoring grandchildren, Kamera, Myles and Jordon; a special aunt Julia Mills of Roanoke, VA; two brothers in law, Waverly (Clarine) of Blackstone, Virginia and William Lee (Hazel) of Petersburg, Virginia; two sisters in law, Elnora and Sadie of Blackstone Virginia; a niece Regina Alexander (Tracy) of Amelia, VA; four nephews, Waverly Boose Jr. of Blackstone VA,  Orlander Boose of North Carolina, Ronald Boose of  Georgia and Javont Boose of New York. In the  process of going through some of Dorothy's personal papers her daughters came across a  paper written by their mother. The message was clear and they wish to share this message with all who admired and respected her:  " For if tomorrow starts without me don't fall apart.
